This CMS features a Lightbox 2 photo gallery and/or FancyBox photo gallery.

Below is an image of the default upload form for Photo Gallery pages. This form appears automatically below each gallery when the webmaster or another authorized user is logged into the CMS.

Each page in the Lightbox CMS has a numeric id which appears in the URL after the "s=" parameter. Uploaded images are automatically associated with both the current page ID number and the ID number of the user who uploaded the graphic image.

The size of the original image can be very large. When the image is uploaded, it is scaled down based on the configured width specification (usually 800-1024 pixels). Thumbnails are automatically created based on the configured width specification (usually 200 pixels). Data necessary to create HTML IMG SRC tags is saved in the database. When users request a Photo Gallery page, information on the photos for that page ID is extracted from the database and the appropriate HTML code displayed.

Ideally, all images uploaded to a given page should have the same aspect ratio. If the uploaded image measures 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels in height, the aspect ratio is 4:3. When the aspect ratio varies between images on the completed page, manual adjustment is required. A new thumbnail can be created to match others, and the appropriate database record modified to reflect the new height/width properties of the recorded thumbnail.

A brief description and/or a URL can either be assigned at the time of upload or modified at a later date using a form in the administrative interface.

Clients needing regular updates to photo galleries are encouraged to put the most important images on the website and to use Picasa in situations where multiple galleries are required and updated frequently.
